The 152.5-metre water system

The official fortress exhibition dates excavation of the 152.5-metre well to 1566–1569 under master miner Martin Planer. A seven-metre treadwheel later replaced a horse-driven mechanism; the site illustrates the labour and engineering needed for siege independence.
